Pool Chemicals

It is very important to manage your Sanitizer (chlorine/ bromine) and Alkalinity & pH by testing your water and applying chemicals to adjust to the recommended range. Alkaline & pH imbalance is the #1 cause of damage to liners and equipment. Lack of sanitizer is the main reason for Algae. We offer water testing service by using computerized software to accurately test water and provide you with a print out and recommendations. Normal ranges are:
  • Total Alkalinity 80 – 120 ppm
  • pH 7.2 – 7.8
  • Sanitizer Level 1 – 3 ppm
Most chemical dosage is calculated by gallons of pool water being treated.
Rectangle/Square Pool Gallon Calculation:  L X W X Avg. Depth X 7.5
Round/Oval Pool Gallon Calculation: L X W X Avg. Depth X 5.9

Chemical Safety
  • Always follow label directions when adding chemicals.
  • Always add chemicals to water, not water to chemicals.
  • Never mix one product with another prior to adding it to water.
  • Always store chemicals in a cool dry location out of direct sunlight.
